Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens. The Canon EF 24-105mm IS STM lens was announced in 2014 and, being a full-frame compatible lens with STM, foreshadowed the introduction Dual Pixel AF in Canon's future full-frame camera lineup (although it would be another 16 months before the EOS-1D X Mark II was announced).
Canon have decided to release a 'less-expensive' kit lens for their full-frame cameras - less expensive than their popular 24-105mm f/4 'L' lens, anyway. Wi
Introduction top. This new mirrorless RF 50/1.8 STM is Canon's least expensive mirrorless RF lens, and possibly the sharpest. It is a superb lens in spite of its giveaway price, and it does this by refining one of photography's greatest classic lens designs. This mirrorless RF 50/1.8 STM is quite different from 2015's DSLR EF 50mm f/1.8 STM.

If it helps you feel better, DXO say the real light transmission of the 24-105 L is averaging f5, two-thirds of a stop under what is quoted. Whereas the STM is 1/3 under quoted. The STM is almost a stop faster at 24mm, the lens transmission graphs begin to cross over at 50mm, and the STM ends up 2/3 stop slower at 105mm. Focusing is performed by a Nano USM motor which proved to be very swift and accurate. Compared to the STM focusing motor on the RF 24-105mm STM, the 24-240 was visibly snappier at focusing. When focusing during movies, the camera slows down the process for a smoother-looking result. The Nano USM motors on the 24-240mm are also virtually silent. Nonetheless it's still faster than the 24-105, it's long-enough for portraits, it's STM, and it will go very nicely with the 650D. That sounds as I'm dissing the 24-105 (of which I have no experience). I'm not, but this lens is a good generalist. It's probably an unfair thing to say but the 24-105 is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades and master of

I've read reviews of the Canon EF-S 18-55, 55-250 and 18-135 at various sites including kenrockwell and I think 18-135 is the best single lens choice for now. I understand the 18-55+55-250 option, but for now I think 18-135 is the better choice for me, leaving the option to buy more tele later (for example 70-200 or 70-300) open. Thanks so far!

So, I saw the Canon 24-105 STM on Canon Rumors and I was kinda dissapointed. I really wanted a Mark II version of the 24-105 f4L. I like the new lens and all, but its f3.5-5.6 I hope the new 24-105 STM is sharper. Should I wait for this lens or get the f4L? Canon RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM. Canon EF-S 35mm F2.8 Macro IS STM In-depth testing Latest Camera Reviews Beyond The Canon RF-S 10-18 f/4.5-6.3 IS STM has arrived and issued in the era finally where we can look at the RF-S system as a “system” and not just APS-C Camera bodies with a couple of kit lenses. When the EOS-M first came out, the EF-M 11-22mm was “the” lens that got me interested in the system and I wasn't alone in that regard. The Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is an inexpensive zoom lens for full-frame Canon cameras. It's quite sharp, but requires some distortion correction to get the best results.
