Launched in 2012, the Hyundai i30 offers genuine value for money in the crowded family hatchback sector. Available as a three-door and five-door hatch – and also an estate – the i30 rivals the likes of the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, as well as the closely related Kia Cee’d in the battle of the long warranties.
The car has done 50.000Km so far with zero issues, absolutely nothing has gone wrong with the car. There is a lot of space inside the car and the materials have aged well. The car is very easy on fuel if you know how to used the torque/power band correctly, i barely have rev it above 2000 rpm in city traffic and my avg. is 5.4L/100Km (52 MPG). The car itself is very impressive. She had an old style i10 previously and this is a big improvement. The auto box is not a true automatic it is an automated manual transmission which is quite sluggish but she is simply happy not to have a clutch pedal. My daughter’s 2009 Hyundai i30 developed a gearbox noise, which she reported at the main dealer 12 months ago. At the time the mechanic told her it was nothing and to ignore it. I drove the car today and in 20 yards told her that the clicking noise sounded like a bearing breaking up, probably on the first motion shaft in that it is input speed and goes when the clutch is depressed. So took it into the garage and they said it needed new front pads and discs.. so got them done but then the breaks started making an intermittent crunching/grinding noise when coming to a stop. We had been looking forward to collecting our petrol ix20 after many happy years in a Modus. It promised and delivered front and rear head and leg room aplenty, a flexible and commodious boot - it delivered two to university including a full drum kit and rig. The petrol engine pulled from such low revs - behaving sweeter than the diesel.

A slab-sided pensioners special. The ride is harsh and jerky with a lot of road noise transmitted. Good quality and fairly stylish for an estate. Plenty of standard equipment. Comfortable ride. Economical diesel engines. Awkward boot shape. Lacklustre image. Insurance Groups are between 12–18. On average it achieves 78% of the official MPG figure. The Hyundai i40 Tourer is Hyundai doing what it does best.

Hyundai i30 - All season tyres uk - Engineer Andy : As Ethan says (agreeing you MUST get all 4 replaced if you wish to change tyre type), what tyres you need will depend on where you live in the UK as much as how often you use the car and for what purpose.
