DT 990 Pro 250 Ohm EQ Settings Question. Hey everyone, I just got the DT 990 Pro 250 ohm's for Christmas and I've been trying all of oratory's EQ settings out using Peace GUI. They sound great for music and YouTube/Movies however, for gaming in certain games I find they are very low. Like footsteps and quieter sounds are almost non existent. The Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 Ohm Headphone is your reliable tool for professional mixing, mastering, and editing. You get a wide stereo image with the open-back design. DT 990 PRO delivers "three-dimensional sounds." It reproduces all details of any musical instrument. Beyerdynamic provides you with an audio experience that mimics real life.
So i just got my dt 990 Pro's and im primaraly going to use them for gaming. I dont currently have an amp as i have the 250-OHM head set and my MOBO can support up to 600-OHM with onboard abilities. Im wondering about what settings i should be changing to get the full effect out of them as well as any software i should install and or drivers.
They say that the DT 990 Pro is the best headphone for gaming under ~200$. Mostly because they have good soundstage and imaging which helps with competitive games. I use mine for listening to music and I like them quite a bit although sometimes the treble can be piercing on badly mastered music. AnthonyUK • 2 yr. ago.

the 250 ohm is a more heautral sounding headhone more neutral bass response but will slap if the song demands them to pretty neutral midrange bright treble. the 80 ohm has a slower driver, more boosted bass less controlled treble. the 250 ohm has a touch more detail and overall sounds more refined due to that faster driver the bass sounds tighter.
The Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO are more neutral-sounding headphones than the Beyerdynamic DT 700 PRO X. The 700 PRO have a more neutral mid to treble range. As a result, vocals and lead instruments sound full, present, and detailed. However, sibilants still sound bright and piercing on both headphones.
This means that the DT 770 PRO with 250 ohms sound more natural, but plays (depending on the used headphone amplifier) not as loud as the 80 ohms version. The transducers of the 80 ohms versions are stronger and more powerful, a bit more low-mid accentuated and therefore this version is ideal for powerful reproducing of low-frequency material f

I also did some more research and found alot of users are happy with the FiiO K5 Pro. Although most of them own the 250 ohm verisons, Would you say, if im going to get an amp/audio interface, should I just go with the Dt990 pro 250 ohm version. I did not think there would even be this many options, audio world seems to be bigger than I thought
When you increase impedance, the cans become more difficult to drive, so lesser amps might not reach acceptable volumes, or sometimes with distortion. The DT770s will come in 16, 32, 80, and 250 ohm versions. IMO, DT770s are a bit more rounded for overall use while the DT990s for me would be more for technical listening at home.
Jman841 3 Ω •. I would only add, with the DT 990 250 ohm, the best way to improve sound quality would be to apply EQ. Those things are pretty brutal in the treble and a fairly large bass hump with a quick roll off into the sub bass. •. Vinyl records are lossless, but the crackling noise makes them sound worse. •.

I've recently purchased the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro's 250 ohm version after doing a fair bit of research on what headphones would suit me best. The 990's were in my price range and from all the reviews about them, I've come to the conclusion that they would be the perfect fit for a basshead like me who listens to a lot of edm/pop.
Thanks for the help, I've been lurking here recently prior to buying my new headphones - beyerdynamic dt990's - these are the pro 250 ohm versions. They are nice, I cant wait for the head clamping feeling to die down with the "stretching exercises" I'm giving them (read as; stretching with books)
